Cabify is a Spanish startup founded in Madrid in 2011, providing urban mobility services through a digital app. To accelerate its growth from a small local business to an international player across Europe and Latin America, Cabify leveraged both accelerator support and strategic use of social media and digital tools.
At the early stages, Cabify benefited from mentorship, training, and networking opportunities offered by accelerator programs and startup incubators in Spain. These programs helped refine the business model, connect with potential investors, and scale operations efficiently.
Simultaneously, Cabify used social media platforms—Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube—to strengthen its brand presence, engage with customers, and communicate important updates. Social media was used not only to promote services and offers but also to build trust, highlight safety measures, and respond quickly to customer needs.
This combination of structured support through accelerators and smart use of social media allowed Cabify to:
- Increase brand visibility in competitive markets,
- Build a loyal community of users,
- Improve customer engagement and communication,
- Support rapid international expansion.
This case demonstrates how startups can harness growth partners and ICT tools to scale effectively while maintaining strong connections with their audience.
This course builds on a previously piloted and successful training programme developed within the
DEEP project, which has been further adapted and improved for the current context.
