Santamanía is a craft distillery based in Madrid that, like many small businesses, needed funding to grow and develop new products. In 2017, the company launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube Spain, one of the leading crowdfunding platforms in the country.
The campaign successfully raised over €1 million from 769 investors across 38 countries, demonstrating how crowdfunding can attract both local and international investors. This approach allowed Santamanía to finance new production facilities, expand operations, and strengthen its market presence without giving control to a single investor.
The campaign’s success was driven by a clear business presentation, compelling brand storytelling, and effective use of digital channels to promote the project and engage the investor community. This example highlights how small businesses can leverage digital platforms and crowdfunding tools to secure capital, test market interest, and build a loyal supporter base in the early stages of growth.
This course builds on a previously piloted and successful training programme developed within the
DEEP project, which has been further adapted and improved for the current context.
